USE AN EXCHANGE
Using a Betting Exchange as opposed to a traditional Bookmaker has several advantages that can be exploited by the savvy punter. Firstly, odds are generally a little better on an exchange, because the company running the exchange - whether it be Betfair, World Betting Exchange or any of the other sites popping up over the internet, don't set the prices - the public do. Secondly, as prices fluctuate on the exchange, the savvy punter has the opportunity to create a "GreenBook" situation - i.e. a win on both sides of the ledger no matter which party wins the match/event. Also, the ability to wager on a team to win or lose gives more options. The option to also place wagers after the start of the match - often right up until the final bell or whistle, allows for last minute "pounce" opportunities |
